Municipality located to the east of the province, in the sedimentary basin of the Aguas River, which irrigates its lands, converted into an orchard of fruit, citrus and vegetables, surrounded by other more arid terrain.
In its term there are numerous prehistoric sites that demonstrate the privilege of this place, among which the Argar stands out, the true axis of a culture that spread throughout the southeast of the Peninsula in the Bronze Age.
In this town, history is written in capital letters as it preserves numerous remains of archaeological sites in its municipal area, many of which have been transferred to museums in Europe, due to their great value.
Other elements of interest include the Real Aqueduct, the Parish Church and the Cabezo de María.
